You’re listening to the Prosperity Lab Podcast, episode number one. Welcome to the Prosperity Lab Podcast. We’ve been given an amazing opportunity in entrepreneurship that’s never been available in any other time period. We live in a reality where the number of lives we impact can be directly reflected by the dollars in our bank accounts. Prosperity is about more than income. It means living the good life and existing in a state of freedom, security, and well-being. This podcast will explore the paths towards living our best lives and the businesses providing for them.
I am so excited to be here with you. I’ve wanted to walk through what you can expect from the Prosperity Lab Podcast and a little bit about who I am and what my business is, and those type of details, before we jump into the rest. A little bit about me. My name is Allie Bjerk. I am a digital strategist. I set up funnels and ads for my clients, and I’m also stepping into more of a strategic coaching role, offering group programs for entrepreneurs who are looking to automate their marketing for the first time, get their funnels up and running, get their value ladders created, understand their customer journey, all of the things that we need to know as we’re stepping in from just the idea of running a business to actually running a streamlined, systematized, scalable business.
I’m so excited to share different journeys from my online entrepreneur friends and introduce you to their stories as well and share a little bit more about my journey and how it’s evolved over time. As you heard even in my own intro, there are multiple things that I can do for clients, and for a long time, that was really hard for me to accept that I am a multi-passionate entrepreneur and that there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just learning how to work on the most important pieces so that I can get the most traction quickly.
This podcast really goes through what you can expect, like giving yourself some grace, but also giving yourself that kick in the butt at the same time to keep moving forward and loving every step of the journey, but not being afraid to ask for more, at the same time. We’ll be going through different stories. I’ll share tips about marketing, because that’s really my expertise and my background, talking about scaling your business, getting more consistent leads or client generation, but also knowing why you actually want to be running this business in the first place, like why do you want to grow your business? Why does it matter to you, and how can you relate to other people that have been through the same thing?
I am super pumped to bring you all sorts of information about running an online business or any small business, and really get in on the ground floor of how other entrepreneurs are readying their businesses, what challenges they might be having, what their marketing looks like, because I’m a marketer, I love marketing, but also, like what are the mindset shifts that were necessary for them to go from where they started to where they are now? If you’ve ever listened to NPR, I’m like a super big NPR nerd. I love listening to that show called This Is How I Built It. It’s all about the stories of entrepreneurs who started businesses and what it required from them to go from the idea phase to the building phase, the hiring phase, and all the way into these massive empires that they’ve created.
While the interviewees, if that’s the word, on this podcast won’t necessarily be just billionaire business owners, we’ll be talking to people that might be a few steps ahead of you. They might be a few steps behind you, but we’re all in this together in this crazy entrepreneurial land of what it’s like to run an online business or grow your business from an offline to an online business that I think we can really gain a lot of knowledge from each other, and just seeing how many challenges we all share that are the same, no matter whether you’re a life coach, a graphic designer, a photographer, a mindset coach. It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in. We also have very familiar things that we struggle with, and I think just hearing from our peers or people that maybe have a business that we aspire to grow ours towards, it’s just so inspirational to see what those people deal with on a day-to-day basis.
What you can expect from the Prosperity Lab Podcast will be some riffs from me just babbling, and hopefully you can stand my Minnesotan accent. If not, peace out. No worries. I’m not offended, but also from people that I’ve met through different masterminds I’ve been in, different groups I’ve been in, peers, people I look up to, hopefully, that are willing to come on and share their story of what it took them to get started. A lot of people, I know personally this whole last year has been really an awakening of like my own personal confidence level in my leadership skills for leading people that follow me on social media. That’s the type of leadership, and having the confidence to step up and say like, “This is me. I’m not going to pretend that I’m something else just because that’s what everyone else is doing.”
Through discovering this for myself, I’ve been talking to all sorts of other entrepreneurs who are going through the exact same thing, so it just opened my eyes to like, you guys, we’re all struggling … Actually, I don’t mean to make this such a negative, “Oh, my gosh. Here we go.” We can all learn from each other and benefit from the community of knowing that this is a new economy, like this is something that’s never been available before. There are major corporations that are completely shutting down or changing their businesses, like because of the way we are doing business and the way the innovators, and the idealists, and the creators, the way that we are running and creating businesses these days … I mean, look at like Uber, and Netflix, Redbox. They’ve put major companies out of business, like Blockbuster no longer exists. Taxis are really hurting. Airbnbs have affected the way that hotels operate.
It’s possible for these ideas to completely spark something in our social channels, in our lives, in the very way that our culture functions, and it’s not going to change, like this is just the beginning of this whole industry of running a business online in a peer-to-peer serving of, “This is how an economy can work.” It’s like this micro-sub-niche economy right now that is completely changing the way we do business, like there are coaches that are hiring graphic designers to build their websites who are hiring marketers like myself to run ads for them.
We’re all supporting each other, and we’re all bringing money home to feed our families and take care of our homes, and travel, and do all these really cool things. This has never been available before at any other point in the world because of the internet, so it’s just a really cool time to be in business. There are things that we have in common that we can share and grow throughout learning from each other, so the point of the Prosperity Lab Podcast is that you can design your business to look however you want it to look. If you want to design the next Uber that is, I don’t know what they are right now, but like a million, billion-dollar company, seven, eight-figure company, you can do that. You just design it, and then you build the infrastructure and the team, and you can run your own massive empire.
If you want to design a business that brings in $3,000 a month to replace your income so that you can stay at home with your kids and work five, 10 hours a week, you can do that too, but the point is, you can do whatever you want. You just have to know what it is you want. Hearing the stories from other people about how they built it, it’s super inspiring to know what’s possible for you and how you can design your own business so that it can fit whatever lifestyle you want. The lab part comes in in that you’re not going to get it right the first time. If you have figured it out right away, that’s awesome, but a lot of people don’t, and it takes multiple iterations to figure out what services you want to offer, and maybe who you want to work with, and what niche you want to just speak to, and how you want to market your business.
The prosperity thing, it’s not just about money. It’s about a lifestyle. It’s about a feeling. Literally, if you look it up in the dictionary, “prosperity” means affluence, obviously, like having money, but it also means, it says “milk and honey” in the dictionary, so having a life of milk and honey, so getting what you want out of your life and deciding what that looks like for you. Does that look like going for a run every morning and not starting work until 10:00? Does it look like volunteering in your kid’s classroom? Does it look like working only from 8:00 PM until 2:00 AM? Does it work like a 9:00 to 5:00, just like your previous job? You get to decide exactly what it looks like.
We’re going to be talking to entrepreneurs that are traveling, people that are like the nomads, the digital nomads, where they’re working from a different country every week. We’re going to talk to people who are running businesses that are bringing 150k-plus per month in, month after month, people that have decided that they want their business to look like 20 hours a week and 20k a month. You can totally decide. That’s the entire point is that this is your Prosperity Lab. This is my Prosperity Lab. This is my experiment. It’s your experiment. You can learn from me. I can learn from you, and we can all be in this together.
Of course, there’s going to be a marketing undertone, because I’m going to ask marketing questions. That’s where I get excited, but I’m going to share stories of other entrepreneurs that are, they’re digging in. They’re in it. They’re building businesses, software-as-a-service businesses, coaching industry, everything. I’m really, really excited for you to be here. I cannot wait to jump in and start interviewing people, and sharing their stories with you, and sharing that inspiration with you so that you can take what you need from the interviews and implement it, take action, and just run, and run towards whatever the heck you want in your business and your life, because you get to design it, you get to experiment, you get to play and figure out what you want that life to look like. It’s really only just beginning, like this is just the tip of the iceberg for what is possible for online businesses.
We’re just now starting to see this complete shift in entrepreneurialism, another word that I’m going to make up. We’re just seeing it now, and it’s just the beginning, and it’s amazing what’s going to be possible. Stay tuned, subscribe, share it with your friends. If you know someone I should interview, let me know. I would love to meet them. This is all about building community, and I’m just really excited to be here and bringing people onto the show that will hopefully guide and influence you, excite you, get you revved up about your business, and we will go from there. Thanks so much for joining me, and I will talk to you soon.
